Description
One-of-a-kind illumination born from inspiration and ingenuity
This unique table lamp transforms a vibrant Ariel dishwasher pods box into a warm, ambient light source that celebrates both color and creativity. The original packaging design remains beautifully intact, creating a playful burst of color that shifts and glows when illuminated.
The Story
Inspired by Eduardo Frota’s “Cones” installation at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba, Brazil, this piece emerged from a moment of creative problem-solving. Standing in that exhibition space, I imagined creating similar cone forms myself—and this lamp represents the solution I conceived on the spot, brought to life through careful craftsmanship and laser engraving.
The Craft
Using precise laser engraving techniques, I’ve created a custom design that seamlessly integrates a standard E27 fitting into the cardboard structure. This was the only way to achieve the perfect fit while maintaining the integrity of both the original packaging and the functional lighting element.
The Light
When lit, this lamp casts a warm, inviting glow that transforms any space. The colorful graphics of the original Ariel packaging become luminous, creating an unexpected and delightful interplay between commercial design and artistic expression.
